Lighting - Christmas work

Because we want to have a sense of mysteriousness about our thriller, we have decided that we want to have a grey/dark tint to the lighting of our film (on the camera). Having such dull colour gives the opposite effect of really bright colours, and changes the tone of the piece. We want our piece to be slightly depressing, as we will need the audience to empathise with the suffering characters in the film. There is no happy highlight in our piece, so the whole thing needs to be shot with the dull lighting.
